FAQ
FAQs
Where is the studio located?
The in-person studio is located in Gilbert, Arizona near Greenfield and Elliot. If you are local, I would love to meet you in person. Message me or sign up for classes and I will give you the exact location.
Is this “hot yoga”?
The studio is heated but never goes above 89degrees. It’s just enough heat to help us warm the body and get into the muscle fascia to help with flexibility. In the Roots Foundation Classes, I keep it in the low 80’s In the Power Yoga classes it gets closer to 89 by the end of class. We move a lot so expect to sweat! It feels so good!
How do I sign up and pay?
Click on the “Book an In-Person Class” button and it will take you to a page where you can purchase a class package as well as sign up for upcoming classes. You also have the option of a single class for the current drop in fee. If you’ve never practiced with me before, use the code FIRSTCLASSFREE to come check it out.
Is it weird going to someones house for yoga?
Once you come and get to know me and the studio, I promise, you’ll love it. It’s an inviting, safe, and intimate space upstairs. The studio fits 14 mats. We have created a wonderful community of women (and some men) who love practicing yoga with a faith-based approach. Many people have similar businesses in their home…ie. coaching, music lessons, counseling. This just felt like the right way and place to do this and I’m so grateful for all the people that come.
What kind of music do you play?
I absolutely LOVE creating playlists of carefully curated music that uplifts and encourages. It’s mostly Contemporary Christian music. I have a strong love for my Savior Jesus Christ and I adore sharing His good news through music.
What do I wear and what do I bring to class?
I recommend that you wear clothing that is comfortable and is able to stay close to the body. It can be very distracting to be in a big tshirt that gets in the way. Yoga is best done barefoot so you can feel the mat under you. Bring a mat if you have one. You can borrow one of mine if you need to. I promise…you’ll love yoga so much, you’ll soon purchase a mat of your own.
Why is it called “faith-based” or “Christian” yoga?
“Faith-based, Christian” yoga takes traditional yoga teachings and adds the beautiful lens of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’ve spent many years on my mat learning to be really quiet inside so that I could better hear His voice. That has been the miracle of my own yoga practice! I have a better connection to my Savior because I was willing to get quiet, and I want to share that with others. You too can hear Him better in your life through a consistent yoga practice that includes meditation and breathwork. We are Divine Beings with a body and a spirit. We don’t comparmentalize those parts of us. Our spiritual body affects our physical body and vice versa. So the way that I teach yoga incorporates ALL of us!…we take care of the physical body and the spiritual body…(which also includes the mental and emotional parts of us).
How long is class?
I list all my classes as being one hour but I’m the queen of going 10 minutes over. So plan on 70 minutes.
